Bio

I am Abril Cook, the creator of Charcuterie Pieces LLC. I am a wife, mom, and work in Corporate America. I have a Bachelor's Degree in Psychology, Minor in Early Childhood Education, and a Master's Degree in Human Resource Management. I was raised in the Black Belt with my grandparents where I assisted my grandmother from time to time with her garden full of fresh fruit, vegetables, and natural foods.

November 2020 was an interesting moment in my life. There were many things happening personally and professionally. I remember taking a break from it all and while looking online, ran across charcuterie boards. I was intrigued. The rest is history. I was in full force with a new hobby. I wanted to educate myself on the foundation of charcuterie and enhance the food artwork while focusing on diversity and inclusion. There were days I would go grocery shopping and come home to start building boards. Each week I improved on the presentation and visual aesthetics of charcuterie boards. I made boards for fun and blessed family, friends, or friends of friends at no cost for my services. Thanks to my husband, daughter, and sister-in-love who jumped in to assist as needed. Charcuterie Pieces creates relaxing and therapeutic moments for me.

Many requested I start a business during 2020, but I was not ready. My parents, family, friends, and mentors supported me during this journey. We made it an official business November 2023. Life can be organized chaos at times. We are pulling pieces together to create our own roadmap. We can take the good, bad, ugly, and create magical moments with culinary artwork.

There are no perfect boards. Create your own vision which is manifested by your experiences. Do things you enjoy and not what others think you should be doing. Follow your passion and purpose. Be your authentic self.
